Pizza Time

3.5/5
731 Pleasant Street , Dartmouth

After receiving a few requests, we decided we would check out Pizza Time out towards Shearwater / Eastern Passage. After ordering our pizza on a Tuesday evening, we were pleasantly surprised to receive free pop with our order. Already Pizza Time was looking up.

Pizza Time is in a house-gone-pizza joint. Its purely a take-out or delivery place, as there is no room for any tables. They also don’t do slices, so it’s order a pizza or nothing. Their menu is completed by garlic fingers, donairs, and even fries and poutine. Our order consisted of a pepperoni pizza and garlic fingers.

Diving into the pizza, its pretty good. The dough is that of a small joint, but also has a slightly unique taste and texture that made it stand out from the rest. The cheese is loaded on, and is very stringy. The cheese is up there for top cheeses found on a pizza. The pepperoni was just about normal. Nothing about it really stood out, but it didn’t detract from the experience at all either.

One issue I did notice however, is the level of grease. There was just a bit too much grease for my liking. A little can be unavoidable in most situations, but once you hit a certain level its unacceptable. Pizza Time was approaching that level.

It should be noted, however, that Pizza Time provided us with excellent customer service. We were made welcome and appreciated, and had some good laughs with the staff. One of the better places we have been to for a friendly staff.

Pizza Time gets 3.5/5. Overall, it was an enjoyable pizza, and is a pizza that is worth the trip out for any pizza enthusiast or anybody in the area.

Jessy’s Pizza

3.5/5
99 Cobequid Road Sackville

It’s a Friday night, and the party is over, but you don’t want to go home just yet. What in Sackville is open at 1am? That’s exactly what we were wondering, and as we were driving we saw Jessy’s Pizza open. We’ve eaten at Jessy’s Pizza in Dartmouth and Halifax before, but never gave it a formal review. Our expectations didn’t place Jessy’s at the top of Halifax pizza, due to a bad experience at one of the other restaurants. Now, the review - and the chance to bring Jessy’s pizza into good light with the Patrol - rests on the small shop in Sackville.
