Revana Pizza

2.5/5
29 Portland Street , Dartmouth

Having been recommended by a good friend of the Patrol a few times, we decided that it was high time to check out Revana Pizza on Portland Street in downtown Dartmouth. Revana Pizza is adjacent to a bar, sharing a doorway between them on the inside, and not far from the RBC building just across the street, making it a fairly easy place to find.

When we went in just as the lunch hour was ending, they had run out of pizza slices and so we elected to wait the 5 minutes for a fresh pizza to make its way out of the oven. While we waited, we determined that Revana was not the nicest looking pizza place that we had been to, and we also found it slightly odd that there was a doorway between it and the bar next door. Despite this, we sat down to enjoy our slice of pizza fresh from the oven.

The pizza was almost too hot to eat, but we couldn’t wait to try it. The most outstanding part of the pizza was the sauce. It was very sweet and rich in tomato taste. It was the piece that brought the puzzle together, and helped to mask what was otherwise a standard pizza. I have no true gripes about the pizza except that the crust was almost burnt. If it spent anymore time in the oven it would have crossed that threshold.

Overall, it was your typical small joint pizza with an outstanding sauce. For it’s effort, Revana walks away with a 3/5. If you’re ever in the downtown Dartmouth area, stop by Revana pizza for a nice slice.
