Salvatore’s Pizzaiolo Trattoria

So finally we made our way to Salvatore’s, considered by many one of the top pizza destinations in Halifax. Did it stand up to the hype, or were we in for a huge disappointment? Read on!

First, let’s start with the actual setting itself: Salvatore’s tried to get that small Italian restaurant feeling going for it, and I must say it wasn’t too bad. Walking in, you could tell there was something different from the average pizza place in Halifax. They had a slightly sophisticated air, all the way down to the cloth napkins (although I’m not a fan of cloth napkins, but thats a moot point). They also included the best beverage known to mankind on their menu, the Italian soda. Mmmmm. I didn’t order one though, but thats what I get for not looking at the menu.

Once the pizza came, it was time to get down to business. As Salvatore’s put it, it was the *ultimate thin crust pizza*. It was a thing of beauty. The crust was perfect - crispy, but not too much so. The cheese was delectable - slightly stringy, but yet full and oh so flavorful. The sauce was marvelous. They had a good amount of sauce, nice and tomato-y, but with spices to add that extra ummph of flavor. The only real downside that I could find with the pizza was the lack of pepperoni. Some slices had a good amount, while other slices had only a minimal amount of pepperoni. Other than that, Salvatore’s produced a fine pie, worthy of one of the higher scores from the Pizza Patrol, and also worthy of being considered one of Halifax’s finer offerings on the pizza scene.

4/5. A must do for any pizza lover in Halifax.

I ordered from here last night partly on the review here and the menu i spoted at another website and man, it was a pure gormet experience. I never had pizza taste so good. The spices and ingredients used are all top of the line. My only mistake was not getting large for 2 people. I had med. Lombardia last night and tonight im getting large Pizza Tutto Carne.
